"So I got an idea for a show."

"Oh yeah."

"Yeah and I think we should do it on Sunday morning."

"What's the idea?"

"Have you heard the term alternative country?"

..."No."

"It would be an eclectic mix of classic and new country music that has an edge, the total opposite of what's getting played on country radio stations."

..."Wouldn't the country music stations have a show like that if people wanted to hear...?"

"Alternative country."

..."Whatever"

"Give me two hours."

"Will you leave me alone if I say yes?"

"Yes."

"Okay."

And so began a new era of Sunday morning entertainment. Two hours dedicated to artists that made or make great americana, country and/or folk music. From the old outlaws like Hank Williams and Johnny Cash to the modern insurgents like Neko Case and Ryan Adams. These are the musicians who choose to operate outside the traditions and industry of mainstream country

This is Sunday Morning Coming Down
