Kicks for Guns 2012 Pics
This year we took a total of 1,333 guns off the street with 36 of them illegal/stolen.
Last year, Kicks for Guns had its biggest year ever with 2,230 guns taken off the street!
Now in 14th year, Real Radio 104.1's Kicks for Guns has grown to 13 locations all around Central Florida…involving law enforcement in 6 counties. Kicks for Guns will take place on August 16, 2012.
Granting amnesty to citizens who want to get rid of weapons NO questions asked - participants received Sneakers or Gift Cards in the exchange.
“We purposely do the event just before the start of school for top of mind awareness. We blew through last year's number of 1,356 by 1:00pm. Hundreds of sawed off shotguns, stolen guns and two guns with silencers were collected” says Real Radio 104.1's Program Director, Katherine Brown, speaking of the 2011 Kicks for Guns.
