The Zimmerman verdict is extremely polarizing to say the least. After the 'Not Guilty' verdict was read, many took to the streets to protest and rally support for Trayvon Martin, calling for the repeal of Florida's Stand-Your-Ground law. The issue of race has also been brought up, even before the trial began.
A new poll conducted by the Washington Post and ABC News shows a chasm between white and black reactions to the verdict. One question asked if minorities receive the same treatment as whites in the criminal justice system with 50% saying 'No,' 45% answering 'Yes,' and 5% with no opinion.
Another question asked people approved of the Zimmerman verdict with the result evenly split with 41%.
Do you think minorities are treated equally within the criminal justice system?
