The defense continues presenting their case today, calling expert witnesses such as Dr. Vincent Di Maio. Dr. Di Maio is a forensic pathologist and former chief medical examiner in San Antonio, Texas, where gunshot wounds was the main area of focus for his work.
Dr. Di Maio testified that he believes that Trayvon Martin was on top of George Zimmerman when he was shot. He said the gun was in contact with Martin's clothes when it went off. Dr. Di Maio went on to say that the evidence on Trayvon's clothes was consistent with somebody leaning over the shooter.
There was also debate on whether or not the jury should be allowed to view the animation the defense team put together, showing what they believe happened on the fatal night in question.
