NY Times: Tech Elites Ruining Burning Man?


It seems that the annual Burning Man festival in the Black Rock Desert in northern Nevada is not quite what it used to be and a new piece in the New York Times looks into why this might be. Usually, Burning Man attracts a crowd of about 50,000 half-naked, free-loving hippies and the last adjective to describe attendees that would come to mind is "wealthy." However, in the last couple of years, Burning Man has become a getaway for millionaires and billionaires in what becomes an "outspending" competition, essentially ruining the experience for Burning Man purists.
