Challenge your endurance through the swamp, mud, and brush as you will attempt to flee from air soft snipers hidden throughout a 4 mile course at the Prison Break Mud Run. Choose your own adventure with two paths to take at Florida Eco Safaris in St. Cloud.
All part of the fun:

Race Day
What if I get shot, am I “out”?
Getting shot is just your badge of honor! Get back in the game and take another few for the team! You are never out! You are just wounded.
I can’t swim, can I still do the course?
Yes… just don’t do the water obstacles. We don’t expect the water to be over your head, but watch those in front of you first! If you can’t swim or panic in water, it is NEVER a good idea to do a water obstacle. Be smart, listen to your body, and simply avoid those parts of the course. There will always be a workaround for water!
If you can swim and you aren’t nervous in water… they make the event extra fun! Definitely worth it!
I am not in shape, will I be in over my head?
Definitely not! Our course is made to be as challenging as you want it to be. If you can’t handle it, we have plenty of ways to bail out early. There are ways around every obstacle as well. It is up to you to choose the adventure you feel most comfortable with.
There are no time limits! There are no requirements! Just go out there, have fun… and don’t get shot!
Can I run the course more than once?
Unlike other events, we allow you to participate as many times as you want. We want you to get the experience you came to get. If that means running multiple times, go for it. The best part… we are going to have multiple trail options so that you could actually run the trail multiple times and get a completely different experience. The goal here is to keep wait times down, breakup the runners/walkers, and to make the course more enjoyable to everyone, regardless of their fitness ability.
What if it’s raining the day of the event?
The race is rain or shine. The rain only makes it better!
Can I just come to watch participants on the course?
YES of course! We encourage friends and family to come show their support. We will have entertainment for children and lots of opportunities to view the participants. There will be a very large viewing around at the end of the course and you will be able to see the start of the course as well.
What should I bring to the race?
You will only need your ID and some cash for refreshments and/or cool Prison Break swag that will be available. Also a good idea to bring bug spray. While we don’t expect bugs this time of year, still a good idea.
It is also advisable to bring a change of clothes, a towel, and anything else that will help you clean up after you are done. Most importantly, bring someone that can take some pictures! We will have a photographer, but nothing better than your home brewed pictures.
What should I wear?
Comfortable loose fitting clothing will offer you the most protection. If you’ve never been shot with an airsoft gun before there is a large difference between being hit on your bare leg or being hit in thick cargo pants. Many people dress in camouflage and come dressed for protection, other bolder escapees with come with a bull’s eye painted on their back.
If you are part of a team, we DEFINITELY encourage themes. That’s right… if your team comes up with an awesome theme, there is a great chance you will be rewarded with it! Your imagination is the limit.
Most importantly: Wear something you don’t care about! There’s a good chance it is going to get muddy, torn, or beat up.
What kind of shoes should I wear?
It goes to personal comfort on footwear. We do not recommend wearing brand new running shoes for this event as they will get muddy and nasty. Old running shoes work great, many escapees will wear minimalist trail shoes or Vibrams/Skeletoes to run the course.
Where can I park for the race?
Parking will be onsite. Parking is $5 per car and an additional $1 per head. 100% of the parking goes directly to Florida EcoSafaris, a nonprofit nature conservatory. We recommend carpooling to save you some money however there will be plenty of parking available.
How early should I arrive for the race?
Arrive within the time frame of the arrival time you are signed up for. The entire process from parking to registration to the actual wave time is based off arrive times. Adhering to your arrive time will reduce the time you have to wait to park, fill out your forms at registration, and get out onto the course.
What sort of activities will be available when I’m not running the course?
We will have music, games, an airsoft course, obstacle course for kids, and more.
What do I do with my belongings during the race?
We will offer a bag check.
